CAE (Certificate in Advanced English)

FCE (First Certificate in English), CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) and CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) are three official Cambridge examinations on knowledge of English. The certificate of each of these examinations is the official document confirming that you know English at the certain level:
FCE – you know English at the level of Upper-Intermediate B2
CAE – you know English at the level of Advanced C1
CPE – you professionally know English.
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) – examination which is suitable for the people using English in the professional or academic purposes. The certificate widely admits employers as it confirms ability of the person to conduct negotiations, to do presentations, to carry out correspondence with foreign partners.
What level of knowledge is required for the international examination of CAE?
For delivery of CAE the level of English has to correspond to the category advanced. According to this level of proficiency in language, the candidate for passing an examination can fluently read, write competently and easily, without any efforts, communicate practically on any subjects, selecting lexicon for conversation without thinking. It is also necessary to understand well aspects of language and its variation depending on a scope. For example, if conversation is based with use of the British English, you mustn’t add the American words. It is considered that the person with the level of English of "advanced" reads any category of literature, understands practically any kind of speech, writes works of different types without effort.
In the exam there is a certain set of typical exercises on each of 5 aspects:
o Reading o Listening o Writing o Using of English o Speaking
Estimation of your knowledge is also conducted on a five-alphabetic scale – A, B, C, D, E from which the first three (60-100%) assume issue of the certificate, and the last two mean an exam failure.
Why should you take the CAE?
Thousands of companies demand certificates on delivery of these exams at employment. Besides, if you want to study in the English-speaking country, you need documentary confirmation of your language abilities. International exams are the most adequate and objective way to estimate knowledge and abilities in language, as you receive a deserved assessment of your knowledge. The certificate of the international examination of CAE is admitted by many universities all over the world. Among them – University of Cambridge, University of Oxford (Great Britain), California Institute of Technology (USA), University of Toronto and others.
In addition, international exam certificate CAE has a weight for companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Sony, Nokia, Bosch, etc.
