Project Plan.
Copy the Environment Record Sheet on a separate sheet of paper. Use it while doing investigation. Make your observation and give a value of between 5 and 0 (where 5 is excellent and 0 is poor) to every item in the chart. Add all your values, write down the descriptions and the total score at the end of the sheet. Give suggestions for ways of improving the environment that you studied. Write a report. Give presentation of it in Mass Media.

Скопируйте лист состояния  окружающей среды  на отдельном листе бумаги. Используйте его, проводя исследование. Сделайте ваши наблюдения и дайте оценку между 5 и 0 (где 5- отличный балл  и 0- плохо) к каждому  пункту таблицы. Суммируйте общий балл, опишите состояние окружающей среды   и запишите счет в конце листа. Подготовьте доклад, выступите с ним на собрании. Вы можете представить его в СМИ.

Introduction
Letters of enquiry describe what the writer wants and why. The more unusual the request, the more convincing the reason needs to be.
Content of the Letter
1. Subject Heading should inform the reader that this is an enquiry or request:

Enquiry about the language course and textbooks
- Request for a brochure
- Enquiry about a website
2. The First Paragraph should tell the reader what you want
- Please send me…(for things that the organization offers)
- I would be grateful if you could tell me…( for things that are normally not offered)
- I am writing to enquiry whether…(to see if something is possible)
- I would especially like to know… (+ a more detailed request)
- Could you also…(+ an additional enquiry or request)
3.The Second Paragraph tells the reader why you are contacting her organization, and gives further details of the enquiry.
There are two reasons why you may contact an organization:
- You have contacted this organization before;
- You have heard about this organization. You should describe from where, such as from an advert or a recommendation
- I saw your advert in The Day on Tuesday, 3 August 2010.
- Your company was recommended to me by…
4. The Final Paragraph should contain a polite expression and /or an expression of thanks of to the reader. Possible language includes:
- Thanks. (For a very informal or normal enquiry request)
- I look forward to hearing from you.
- Thank you for your assistance.
- Thank you very much for your kind assistance.
- I appreciate that this is an unusual request, but I would be very grateful for any help you could provide.
- I look forward to hearing from you.
If you think the reader might have further questions, you can suggest that she contact you; “If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me”.

В листі-запиті/ зверненні автор має запитати те, що хоче дізнатись і чому. Чим незвичайніший запит, тим більш переконливіша причина необхідна.
Зміст листа
1. Заголовок повинен інформувати читача, що це лист-запит/звернення:
- Запит про мовні курси та підручники
- Запит брошури
- Запит про сайт
2. Перший абзац повинен сказати читачеві, що ви хочете дізнатися
- Будь ласка, надішліть мені ... ( те, що організація пропонує)
- Я був би вдячний, якби ви могли сказати мені ... (для речей, які, як правило, не пропонуються)
- Я пишу на запит чи ... (щоб побачити, якщо щось можна дізнатися додатково)
- Я хотів би особливо знати ... (+ більш детальний запит)
- Не могли б ви також ... (+ додаткова перевірка або запит/звернення)
3. Другий абзац розповідає читачеві, чому ви звертаєтеся саме до цієї організації, і дає більш детальну інформацію про запит.
Є дві причини, чому ви можете звернутися в організацію:
- Ви зверталися до цієї організації раніше;
- Ви чули про цю організацію. Ви повинні описати, звідки ви дізналися про організацію, наприклад, з оголошень або за рекомендацією.
- Я бачив Ваше оголошення в той же день у вівторок, 3 серпня 2010р.
- Ваша компанія була рекомендована мені ...
4. Останній абзац повинен містити важливу експресію або подяку від читача. Мова включає в себе:
- Спасибі. (Для дуже неформального або звичайний запиту)
- Я з нетерпінням очікую почути від вас.
- Дякуємо за вашу допомогу.
- Велике спасибі за вашу люб'язну допомогу.
- Я розумію, що це незвичайне прохання, але я б була дуже вдячна за будь-яку допомогу, яку ви можете надати.

Якщо ви думаєте, що у читача є додаткові питання, ви можете припустити, що він з вами захоче зв'язатись:

One day of Safe Teleportation Inspector

A Science Fiction Story.

He woke up with a headache. Oh, it was normal – being a child he used to it. It’s normal neuron reaction to the microchip in his head. But there was something worse - high-frequency signal told him: “Alexander Groft, STI №24, you have an urgent call”. So he had to get up.
− Alex… Do you leave… - sleeping wife murmured.
He didn’t answer looking for medicines. His job is often a difficult calculation, impossible with so bad feeling. He prefered usual slow-acting tablet for the poorest people (which couldn’t afford any techniques) instead of painkilling electric signal through the brain.
Alex went to the balcony with waiting air taxi. Set in and open a magazine on his Smartphone. Why is it called so? It doesn’t have its own mind. But the name left from the past when thought these simple programs are “smart”. So, what happened in the world?
“Port-way may be blocked because of high danger for personal and national security”. What? Blocked? Lose a job? Port-way, worldwide system of teleports is the most cheap and fast way to move on a large distances but not so enjoyable. On the other hand, said that long ago people didn’t have a daily headache. We all must sacrifice of something.
Many years ago the teleports were thought as a fairy tail, strange and magic. It actually is much simpler. You can be sent to any place like an email. Your nuclear structure and genetic code are read by powerful computer and sent on the address. Then it dissipates you to the atoms. And you will be composed again in a place of destination, of the necessary chemical elements from the earth and atmosphere. Naturally, you lose your mind and memory during this process. That’s why you need a microchip, which records every your thought, skill and memory, copies them into National database and then brings them back to your brain.
Inspector pondered. So, when we use the teleport, we just die? Again and again, even hundreds of times on your memory. And even that memory is a fake?
No, he was wrong. The worst mistake you can make – breaking your confidence that what you do is right. This is a reason that philosophy was forbidden ages ago. If you work – work well, that’s all.
He jumped out and almost ran straight to the port-station with red alarm blinking. Touched main door with the key and entered. A young man person on the starting ground was cruelly screaming. No one could identify him now, because his skin was already decaying when the system stopped.
− Okay. Get him out of the ground, provide the first aid and bring to my office.
Another fool… Is it the reason to wake him up so early?
“Groft!” chief hailed him. “Be careful. He isn’t our client. Rather ours but…I think he would b interesting for NSA*. ”. God almighty, who is he?
He was waiting near the door and frightful view of his muscles and vessels was already being covered with a new skin.
Alexander was starting a boring lecture about the safety, when the guy interrupted:
− ‘Cause I have a very important information for Ministry of Defence! Okay, I’m hacker…
− Did you hurry to confess of it? You chose a wrong address, – Alex smirked.
− Stop laughing at me! I decrypted a part of codes which have just arrived to the Database. It will be the greatest terror attack of all world history. Terrorists with the explosives will be sent to every station at any moment! Don’t you understand what can happen?!
− How did it come into your empty head? Stop telling me a tale…
He was interrupted by the explosion behind the window and thrown against the wall with the shock wave. Glass crumbled, all furniture was overturned. Hot wind brought the smells of smoke and dust through the broken widow. Alarm system yelled: “DANGER! DANGER! PORT-WAY IS BLOCKED!”
Alex hardly stood up, nervously looking around.
− Or it’s not a tale…

Один день з життя інспектора з безпеки телепортації.

Науково-фантастичне оповідання.

Голова розколювалась… Це було нормально, він ще з дитинства звик до цього. Мікрочіпи з нейронами не дуже дружать. Гірше, що через цей біль ще й пробивався противнючий високочастотний сигнал: «Олександр Грофт, ІБТ № 24, терміновий виклик!». Довелося вставати.
− Сааааш… Ти куди? – сонно пробурмотіла жінка.
Він не відповів, копаючись у потайному ящичку з медикаментами. На роботі інспектору з безпеки телепортації часто доводилось мати справу зі складними розрахунками, а коли думати боляче? На відміну від більшості знайомих, він не поспішав пустити знеболювальний сигнал через мозок. Рятувався простими довгодіючими пігулками, які купували лише представники низу, кому не по кишені були найпростіші досягнення техніки.
Сашко вийшов на балкон, де його вже чекало аеротаксі. Сів, відкрив електрогазету на смартфоні. Сматфон… Який же він смарт, ні крихти власного розуму! А назва лишилася. Так, що там в світі нового?
«Порт-шляхи можуть заблокувати через високу ймовірність загрози персональній і державній безпеці…». Що? Заблокують? Кинути роботу? Порт-шлях, всесвітня система телепортів була найшвидшим і найдешевшим способом переміщення на великі відстані. Хоч і не надто приємним, але ж колись, кажуть, у людей і голови не щодня боліли… чимось треба жертвувати. Колись давним-давно, коли про телепорт говорили тільки в книгах казок, їх виставляли як диво й магію. Насправді, все набагато простіше. Тебе відправляють в будь-яку точку планети як e-mail.
Потужний комп’ютер зчитує твою молекулярну будову, послідовність ДНК, все до останнього електрона і відправляє цей код на місце призначення. А ти розсипаєшся на атоми, зникаєш, розсіюєшся. А потім в необхідному місці згідно з кодом тебе збирають заново, адже вуглець, водень і геть усі необхідні елементи є в землі й повітрі. Природно, що в цьому процесі ти втратиш пам'ять. На те й необхідні мікрочіпи, які пишуть абсолютно все – навички, спогади, думки – і передають в республіканську базу даних. Тож на місці все це знову записується в мозок.
Інспектор задумався. Виходить, телепортуючись, ми помираємо? Десятки й сотні разів на своїй пам’яті? І пам’ять ця також штучна?
Ох, кудись не туди вели його думки… Найшкідливіше, що може зробити людина – це розхитати тверду впевненість у правильності того, що вона робить. Працюєш – працюй добре, ось і все. Недарма ж філософію заборонили ще 200 років тому!
Зіскочивши з таксі, він попрямував просто до станції, яка зараз тривожно блимала червоним. Чиркнув пластиковим пропуском по дверях і ввійшов. Система була заморожена. В стартовому полі верещала від болю людина. Що то за людина, сказати було неможливо – верхній шар шкіри вже розсипався, коли процес зупинили.
− Все ясно. Вилучити з поля, надати допомогу, потім до мене в кабінет.
Знов те ж саме… Черговий придурок. Запис в ідентифікаційній карті, роз’яснювальна робота… Було ради чого смикати його в таку рань!
− Грофт! – гукнув його начальник відділу і, підійшовши поближче, пробурмотів: − Ти там обережніше. Це не наш клієнт. Тобто наш, але мені здається, ним зацікавиться СБУ…
Хто ж це такий, врешті-решт?
Хлопець стояв біля дверей кабінету і переминався з ноги на ногу. Страхітлива картина судин і м’язів почала вже покриватися тонкою шкірочкою.
Олександр почав уже нудну лекцію про безпеку, коли його перебили:
− Бо в мене дуже важлива інформація для Міністерства Оборони! Я… я хакер.
− І що? Здаватися побіг? То ти помилився адресою.
− Годі вже з мене глузувати! Я розшифрував вхідний код. Це найбільш масштабний теракт за всю історію. З хвилини на хвилину на кожну станцію міста має перенестися терорист з вибухівкою. Ви хоч розумієте, що тоді буде?!
− Звідки ти таке взяв? Годі мені тут казки розказувати…
Його перебив вибух, що пролунав зовсім поруч, ударною хвилею інспектора кинуло об стіну. Скло вилетіло, всі меблі виявилися перевернутими. Через розбите вікно увірвався гарячий вітер, принісши запахи диму й пилу. «ТРИВОГА! ТРИВОГА! СИСТЕМА ПІД ЗАГРОЗОЮ! ПОРТ-ШЛЯХ ПЕРЕКРИТО!» − заверещала сигналізація.
Олександр обережно піднявся з підлоги, ошелешено озираючись навколо.
− Чи це не казка…

How to write a Science Fiction Story.

Science fiction stories combine imaginary characters, settings and plots in a story based on believable scientific or historic information. The range of science fiction is extremely broad. Stories may be set in the past, the present, or the future. Some science fiction writers have invented entire worlds, geographies, plants and animal life, and cul- tures. Some science fiction writers have tried to show what might happen if a natural disaster of cosmic proportions occurred such as a comet crashing into the Earth, the return of the ice age, or the sun exploding.
Early writers of science fiction often anticipated inventions that came much later. In 1865, Jules Verne, in From the Earth to the Moon, published in 1865, pictured a returned space capsule! Other scientific achievements of the 20th century anticipated by Verne were the submarine, aqualungs, and television.
Writing a Science Fiction Story
Procedure
Before You write
Fill in the story map. It will help you organize the information for your short story
1. Title
2. Setting
3. Characters.
4. Start.
5. Problem
6. What happens.
7. What results.
8. Ending.
Write
Write a science fiction story to read to your class
1. Write your story as the first person. By using the first person, you can present the thoughts and feelings of one character, the person narrating a story. Telling the story in the first person gives it a sense of reality and can, therefore, make the reader feel personally involved.
2. Begin your story with a description of a setting. Then introduce the main character or characters. Use the notes on your chart to help you stay focused.
3. In your next paragraph, tell the problems of this story. In your remaining paragraphs tell what happens and how your story ends - the solution to the problem. Be sure to tell the events in the correct time order.
Revise
Have a friend read short story. Think about the following checklist as you revise
1. Do the characters in your short story solve the problem they faced in the beginning? How can you make the story more interesting?
2. Does your story have all the necessary elements of a short story: a setting, characters, a problem, and a solution? What elements should be added or made more obvious?
3. Does everything in your story happen in an order that makes sense?
4. Did you tell story as the first person, as if you were a character? How can we make your use of the first person more consistent?
5. Did you put quotation marks before and after each character's exact words? Where do you need to add quotation marks?
6. Did you indent each paragraph? Remember to start a new paragraph each time a different character speaks.
7. Did you check your spelling and punctuation carefully?

Як написати науково-фантастичне оповідання.

Науково-фантастичні оповідання поєднують уявних персонажів, зміст і сюжет історії, заснованій на правдоподібно-науковій чи історичній інформації. Діапазон наукової фантастики надзвичайно широкий. Історії можуть переміщати в минуле, сьогодення або в майбутнє. Деякі письменники-фантасти придумали цілі світи, географію, рослин і тварин, культури. Деякі письменники-фантасти намагалися показати, що може статися, якщо сталася природна катастрофа космічних масштабів, таких як удар комети в Землю, повернення до льодовикового періоду, або сонячний вибух. 

Ранні автори наукової фантастики часто передбачали, винаходи, які з'явилися набагато пізніше. У 1865 році Жюль Верн, в «Із Землі на Місяць», опублікував в 1865 році, на фото повернену космічну капсулу! Інші наукові досягнення 20 століття передбачені Верном були підводний човен, акваланги, телебачення.

Заповніть історичну мапу. Це допоможе вам організувати інформацію для вашої розповіді:
1. Назва
2. Зміст
3. Персонажі
4. Початок
5. Проблема
6. Що відбувається

Написання
Написати фантастичне оповідання і прочитати класу
1. Напишіть свою історію від першої особи. Використовуючи першу особу, ви можете передати думки і почуття одного з персонажів, людини, що оповідає історію. Розповідь історії від першої особи дає відчуття реальності і, отже, читач може відчувати себе ніби він особисто брав участь.
2. Почніть розповідь з опису обстановки. Тоді ввести головного героя або героїв. Використовуйте нотатки та графіки, що допоможе вам залишатися зосередженим.
3. У вашому наступному абзаці, розкрийте проблему цієї історії. У ваших інших пунктах розкажіть, що відбувається, і як ваша історія закінчується - вирішенням проблеми. Не забудьте розповісти про події в правильному порядку часу.

Перевірка.
Прочитайте наодинці оповідання. Подумайте про нижче наведений список, який ви переглянете.
1. Чи персонажі у вашому оповіданні вирішили проблему, з якою вони стикаються на самому початку? Як ви можете зробити історію більш цікавою?
2. Чи є у вашій історії всі необхідні елементи оповідання: зміст, персонажі, проблеми та рішення? Які елементи повинні бути додані аби зробити їх більш очевидними?
3. Чи все у вашій історії відбувається по-порядку, який це має сенс?
4. Ви розказували історію від першої особи, ніби ви були персонажем? Як можна зробити ваше використання першої особи більш послідовним?
5. Чи знаєте ви, що треба поставити лапки до і після особистих слів кожного персонажа? Куди потрібно додати лапки?
6. Ви зробили відступ перед кожним абзацом? Пам'ятайте, що треба почати новий абзац кожен раз, коли говорить різний персонаж.
7. Ви перевіряєте орфографію і пунктуацію ретельно?
Написати остаточний варіант і поділитися.

Programme Review

Before you start writing, consider what you want to tell your readers about the film/TV programme/radio programme.

- Do you want them to see it? Why?
- A programme review usually contains the following elements in the given order:
1) a brief summary of the plot;
2) the aim of the host of the programme;
3) the structure;
4) the assessment.
- Start by mentioning what kind of programme it is.
- Say who takes part in the programme, who conducts it.
- Give the programme background, for example, short biographies of the guests (in a talk show) or the rules of the game (if it is the quiz show) or the short summary of the previous events (if it is a sitcom, a drama or a soap opera).
- Say what you liked or dislikes in the programme.
- Recommend or don`t recommend the viewers/listeners to watch/listen to the programme. Support this with some evidence.

Перед тим, як ви почнете писати, подумайте, що ви хочете розповісти своїм читачам про фільм/телепрограму/радіопрограму.
- Чи хочете ви,щоб вони побачили це? Чому?
- Огляд програми, зазвичай, містить у собі наступні елементи в зазначеному порядку:
1) короткий виклад сюжету;
2) мета ведучого програми;

My Programme Review

Everyone watches different programmes, shows, films, cartoons, serials. This is an important part of our life. Thanks to television and the Internet we learn something new, in particular from programs. There are so many shows on  TV, but I rarely watch them, so usually I watch films and serials in the Internet.

My favourite American serial is the “Supernatural”. It exists for ten years, contains ten seasons and enjoys high popularity all over the world. I started watching it about six months ago and really loved the story and characters.
The main characters are Dean, older brother, played by Jensen Ackles, and Sam, younger brother, played by Jared Padalecki. The story tells about two people who do, at first glance, strange and non-existent things, but they secretly save the world from demons, monsters and even angels.This serial shows us the real family, the trials of life and a way out of difficult situations, teaches us to be strong, responsible and honest,
Perhaps the serial is  liked not by everyone, but I recommend to watch it for those who like fantasy, a bit of horror and stories about real family and friendship.
