Speaking Comprehension Test.
Directions:
In this test you will select three task slips from those before you.  After selecting three, choose the one you feel you are most capable to speak about and return the other two to the table face down.  Then take about a minute to collect your thoughts before you begin to speak on the topic.  You may refer to the topic as needed.  Take a deep breath and begin.

Writing Comprehension Test
Directions:
In this test you will select from three writing tasks. Choose the one that you feel you are most capable to write about. You will then begin writing your essay on the pages provided. When you are finished close your papers, lay down your pen and wait for us to collect your test materials.

Speaking Comprehension Test for 8th Form Students
 1. You have read a very interesting book.
§  Talk about the plot of the book   and its main characters.
§ Which character made an impression on you. Describe his appearance, behaviour and personality. Explain why you like or dislike this character.
§ Say whom you would advise to read this book to? Why?

2.  Each modern invention has its advantages and disadvantages. The Internet has changed the world greatly.
§        Speak about opportunities that the Internet gives.
§        Explain why the Internet is so popular with teenagers.
§        Are there any negative things about the Internet? If yes, what are they?

3.  Talk about  climate change in the world.
§     Describe the most harmful influences of human activities on the environment.
§     Say what will happen if we do not take any action. Explain.

1. Imagine that you have joined an expedition to a distant land.

Writing Comprehension Test For 9th Form Students
 1. The Chinese proverb says, “ When you follow someone who is good, you learn to be good; when you follow a tiger, you learn to bite.” How do you understand this proverb? Do you agree with it? Who are your leaders? Are your parents your role models? Is there a leader in your class? What example does he/she set? What features of character should you possess not to ‘ follow a tiger’ ?

2. 16 September 2009 was the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. In your opinion, why was this day introduced? What environmental problems does the mankind face? Why? What can common people do to preserve the world around us? How can you make you school ‘ greener’?

3. Imagine you are writing a travel guidebook for foreigners who want to travel around Ukraine. What facts will you write about in the guidebook to persuade the tourists that Ukraine is worth visiting. What places of interest will you include? Mention some tips on travelling in Ukraine. What season will you advise the tourists to visit Ukraine in? Why? Make suggestions about possible places to stay at during their travel.

Writing Comprehension Test for 11th Form Students 
1. Teenagers do all want close relationships with their parents. However many teenagers’ talks with their parents end up with huge rows.
How often do you argue with your parents? What sort of things do you usually argue about?
What are the characteristics of young people who are in their teens? How do these features influence your relationships with your parents and adults in general?
What parenting style should be to make a teenager feel comfortable in this world? What advice would you give to teenagers to help them get on with what is a natural phase of life?

2. Albert Einstein once wrote, “ Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”
